Today, their 22 living children span three decades of family life. The youngest, Heidie, is three years old, while the eldest is in his mid-thirties. In between are Sophie, 29, Chloe, 28, Jack, 26, Daniel, 24, Luke and Millie, both 22, Katie, 20, James, 19, Ellie, 18, Aimee, 17, Josh, 16, Max, 14, Tillie, 13, Oscar, 11, Casper, 10, Hallie, eight, Phoebe, seven, Archie, six, and Bonnie, four.
The family has also known profound grief. In 2014, the couple lost their son Alfie, who was stillborn. Sue, now a grandmother of 10, acknowledges that raising such a large family has not always been easy — but she has never stepped back from it.
Who are the Radfords?
Sue and Noel Radford have been together for 35 years and are widely recognised as Britain’s largest family. They live in the Lake District and have built a public profile through their long-running TV show and social media presence, while continuing to operate a family bakery business.
A daily operation: five laundry loads, a £450 weekly shop and military-precision mornings
Life in the Radford household runs on a strict schedule. Sue’s day begins at 7 a.m. with the task of preparing breakfast for the family, while Noel, 53, has already completed an early shift at the bakery and returned home to help manage the morning rush.

By 9 a.m., Noel heads back to work, leaving Sue to tackle what she describes as an enormous daily workload: tidying, vacuuming, and laundry. The family relies on two washing machines running five loads per day to keep up. A double fridge and a weekly grocery bill of around £450 are essential fixtures of the household.
Dinnertime, at least, is straightforward. According to Sue, none of the children are picky eaters, meaning the whole family sits down to the same meal. Even after the younger children are in bed, the evening is not over: uniforms must be prepared and the garden tidied before the next day begins. Sue credits teamwork as the foundation of their 32-year marriage.
