Birmingham came alive with emotion as fans, family, and memories intertwined—an unforgettable farewell to Ozzy Osbourne, the local son turned global rock legend.

Thousands of fans filled the streets of Birmingham, UK, to pay their final respects to Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman who died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76.
Leading the moving farewell was Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, who broke down in tears during the procession. Joined by their children—Jack (39), Kelly (40), Aimee (41)—and Ozzy’s son Louis (50), Sharon read fans’ messages and raised a peace sign to the emotional crowd.
A Public Farewell To The Prince Of Darkness
The funeral procession began on Broad Street, with a hearse carrying Ozzy’s casket to the Black Sabbath Bridge—a site now symbolic for heavy metal fans worldwide. From early morning, thousands lined the route, holding banners, signs, and memorabilia in tribute to the “Prince of Darkness.”
Many mourners wore bat-themed outfits and vintage Black Sabbath shirts, a fitting tribute to Ozzy’s rebellious spirit. The local Bostin’ Brass band led the procession with a live tribute to Ozzy’s Birmingham roots. Floral arrangements spelling out “OZZY” adorned the casket, while fans chanted his name through tears and applause.
Sharon Osbourne’s Emotional Moment
Carrying pink and purple flowers wrapped in black paper, Sharon, Jack, and Kelly stopped at the Black Sabbath memorial bench. Overcome with emotion, Sharon leaned on her children for support as fans shouted, “We love you, Sharon!”
In an earlier Instagram post, Sharon wrote:
“This loss is sudden and impossible to process. To the world, he was a legend… but to me, he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart.”
A City United In Tribute

Birmingham’s Lord Mayor, Zafar Iqbal, attended the procession and shared heartfelt words:
“Ozzy was more than a music legend—he was a son of Birmingham. We are proud to host this tribute for one of our greatest icons.”
Fans of all ages shared personal stories of how Ozzy’s music shaped their lives. One longtime fan said, “Ozzy helped give a voice to people like me. He felt like family.”
