Shortness of Breath

Reported in 40% of cases, shortness of breath feels like you just can’t breathe deeply enough.
It can happen in both men and women—even up to six months before a heart attack. If you notice this sign, see a healthcare professional as soon as possible.
Hair Loss

Hair loss as a warning sign mostly affects men over 50. It can be a visible indicator of heart disease and is sometimes linked to high cortisol (the stress hormone).
Irregular Heartbeat

Irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias) are often paired with panic attacks and anxiety, especially in women. They can occur unexpectedly as an irregular rhythm or rapid heartbeat (tachycardia).
Physical activity may worsen it, especially if you have plaque buildup. If your irregular heartbeat lasts more than 1–2 minutes, or you feel dizzy or exhausted, contact a doctor immediately.
