Sporer reaches the Bonus Round with $35,000
Sporer played against Christina White and Megan Russell in the March 28, 2025 episode. He built his total over several successful rounds and arrived at the Bonus Round with $35,000 already won.
He had also answered the final puzzle of the regular game correctly. That result secured his place in the Bonus Round, where one more prize was within reach.
A Triple Toss-Up sweep worth $10,000
One of Sporer’s best moments came during the Triple Toss-Up. He solved all three puzzles and earned $10,000.
That run was part of the progress that took him to $35,000 before the Bonus Round began.
Letters C, M, G and O were not enough in the Bonus Round
For the Bonus Round, Sporer chose the category “Phrase”. After the standard letters R, S, T, L, N and E appeared, he selected C, M, G and O to reveal more of the board.
With the countdown running, he could not identify “ON OUR WAY”. The miss cost him a chance at an additional $40,000, although he still left with his winnings from the main game.
Why a familiar phrase is harder to solve on stage than at home
Solving puzzles from the sofa can feel much easier than doing it on television. Viewers at home can relax, study the letters and call out answers without a ticking clock or thousands of dollars at stake.
Contestants must think quickly with cameras rolling, and that pressure can make even a familiar expression hard to recognize. Sporer’s missed bonus shows how a straightforward solution can slip past a player in the moment.
