📌 Sara Sharif’s Father Attacked in Prison: Violent Retribution After Child Murder Conviction
Posted 20 August 2025 by: Admin
The tragic fate of Sara Sharif shocked the world, but the horror did not stop with her death. Her father, already sentenced for his daughter’s brutal abuse and murder, has now endured violent retribution behind bars—raising unsettling questions about justice both inside and outside prison walls.
The killing of 10-year-old Sara Sharif left the world reeling. Yet, her story took another grim turn when her father, Urfan Sharif, was violently attacked in prison by fellow inmates who decided to deliver their own form of justice.
Sara’s case, marked by two years of torture, came to light in 2023 when her lifeless body was found in her home in Woking, Surrey. The girl had endured unimaginable abuse, betrayal, and neglect at the hands of the very people meant to protect her—her own family.
A Campaign of Unthinkable Abuse
Reports revealed that Sara suffered a relentless pattern of mistreatment spanning over two years. Court documents and the BBC described her injuries as among the worst ever recorded in child abuse cases. She was discovered with more than 70 distinct wounds, including broken ribs and spine, a traumatic brain injury, a burn from an iron, human bite marks, and a puncture wound to the head.
The Father’s Damning Note
The day after Sara’s body was found, Urfan Sharif, his wife Beinash Batool, and his brother-in-law Faisal Malik fled to Pakistan. Inside the home, police uncovered a handwritten confession by Urfan, stating: “I killed my daughter by beating… I swear to God my intention was not to kill her.” The message revealed both guilt and fear, sparking an international manhunt that eventually led to their capture.
Life Sentences Handed Down
On December 17, 2024, the courts delivered heavy sentences: Urfan Sharif received life imprisonment with a minimum of 40 years; Beinash Batool, life with a minimum of 33 years; and Faisal Malik, 16 years for allowing or causing the death of a child. Justice Cavanagh condemned their actions as “sadistic” and almost beyond comprehension.
A Mother’s Heartbreaking Words
Sara’s biological mother, Olga Domin, expressed her devastation in court, calling the killers “executioners” and “monsters.” Addressing her daughter, she said: “You are now an angel who watches over us from heaven. You are finally free from the pain and violence.”
Prison Justice: Retribution Inside Belmarsh
Since entering HMP Belmarsh, one of the UK’s toughest prisons, Urfan has reportedly kept a low profile. But among inmates, child killers are viewed as the lowest of the low. On New Year’s Day, just weeks into his sentence, Urfan was attacked in his cell. Armed with a makeshift weapon fashioned from a tuna can lid, two inmates slashed him across the neck and face, leaving permanent scars.
A source described the attack as “inevitable,” noting that many prisoners considered it well-deserved given the scale of Sara’s suffering. Urfan narrowly survived after requiring hospital treatment and multiple stitches.
The Question of Morality
One of the alleged attackers was Steve Sansom, serving a life sentence for the 2024 murder and dismemberment of Sarah Mayhew, with another prior murder conviction from 1999. Even among hardened killers, crimes against children are often met with violent retribution, blurring lines of morality inside prison walls.
Justice or Vigilantism?
This development sparks debate: should all inmates, no matter their crimes, be protected by the system? Some argue Urfan’s assault represents poetic justice, while others warn that tolerating vigilante violence erodes the fairness of the legal system. The question remains—should prisons intervene more to shield high-profile offenders?
A Call for Prevention
Beyond punishment, Sara’s case highlights systemic failures. How could a child endure years of abuse without protection? Her story must serve as a global reminder that every child deserves safety, dignity, and love. The tragedy of Sara Sharif is a warning of what happens when those safeguards collapse.
