When Janet passed away in 1995, Winston was shattered. After sharing decades of closeness, her absence left an immense void. Searching for a way to give shape to his grief—and his lasting devotion—Winston chose to do something extraordinary.
He started planting oak trees across a six-acre field on their farm. Over time, he placed more than 1,000 of them, arranging them in a design only he understood.
