Chia, Flaxseed and Lemon Drink

On Monday morning, after a weekend that might have been a bit much on the plate, this drink really hits the spot. Three ingredients, one glass, twenty minutes of rest — and you start the week with a belly that can breathe. There’s no magic involved, just fibers doing their job.

Ingredients :

  • Chia seeds — White or black ones work the same. One tablespoon, no more — they swell enormously, and too many are honestly difficult to swallow. No specific brand needed; the ones from the supermarket work perfectly fine.
  • Flaxseeds — Get them ground if you can — whole, your body barely digests them and you lose half the benefit. If you have whole flax at home, five seconds in a coffee grinder and you’re set.
  • Lemon — A fresh lemon, not bottled juice. The difference in taste is huge — bottled juice has a metallic aftertaste that ruins everything. A medium lemon gives about 40 ml of juice, which is perfect for one glass.
  • Honey (optional) — Not mandatory, but it really changes the overall smoothness. One teaspoon is enough. If you’re hosting people who avoid sugar, serve it on the side and let everyone dose it themselves.
